Job DescriptionZurn Elkay Water Solutions is looking for a motivated and driven Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team at the Lumberton, NC facility, home to our innovative sink manufacturing operation. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Real-world experience supporting a national brand with a legacy of American manufacturing.Exposure to manufacturing technologies and lean practices.Mentorship from experienced engineers and plant leaders.Opportunity to contribute to meaningful process improvement and efficiency initiatives.Key AccountabilitiesAssist the Manufacturing Engineering team in optimizing sink production processes, including metal forming, welding, polishing, and assembly.Support implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S activities.Perform time studies and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.Create and update work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.Assist in tooling and fixture design or improvement initiatives.Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.Collect and analyze production data to support root cause analysis and process improvements.Participate in Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement projects.Qualifications/RequirementsPursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.Completion of sophomore year or higher preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) a plus.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.Interest in hands-on manufacturing environments and continuous improvement.Total Rewards and BenefitsCompetitive SalaryEqual Opportunity Employer – Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran
