Manufacturing Engineering, Co-Op
Location: Mississauga
Your Challenge:
Working closely with a varied team of engineers, assemblers, testers, program managers and purchasers to support daily production and new program launches.
Knowledge of Manufacturing and the application of LEAN Processes.
Familiarity with Lean methodologies: Kanban, JIT, One-piece flow, Value stream mapping, Poke-Yoke.
Analysis of manufacturing data and techniques to capture and implement continuous improvements projects, eliminate waste and non-value-added work.
Work Center/Flow review, analysis, and improvement
Utilize CAD software to update plant layouts, develop tools/fixtures.
Create and update Routings, BOMs, Item Master, Work instructions and department processes to incorporate a safe and efficient flow.
Ability to review and interpret Engineering drawings and translate them into manufacturing flows.
Ability to work independently as well as with the assistance of Manufacturing Engineers.
Exposure to state-of-the-art manufacturing – Robotic welding, Waterjet cutting, Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical assembly, Hydraulics, Testing.
What You Bring:
Enrolled in an Engineering program (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial) in a second year or later.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Able to prioritize in a high paced environment with large number of tasks.
Proficient use of computer skills (Excel, Word, Power-point, VBA, Programming, AutoCAD, PowerBI, PowerQuery)
