The Manufacturing Engineer, New Product Introduction’s (NPI) primary focus will be on implementing new powertrain products into production at any of our global PT manufacturing facilities. This position owns the manufacturing activities within the Product Development Process and requires a high degree of cross functional collaboration with Safety, Operations, Design Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Sourcing, and Quality. This position plans and coordinates the activities necessary to manufacture Powertrain products within Polaris Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost standards.
Lead DFA/DFM design reviews:
Review preliminary designs, making recommendations to reduce costs and improve assembly and/or quality on new or existing parts.Define tooling and fixturing needs necessary to deliver proposed designsAnalyze and evaluate manufacturing process flow, methods, and standardsLead key components of PDP Process:
Develop and validate PFMEA’sReview and assess powertrain manufacturing feasibility and readinessLead Pre-production buildsPresent Manufacturing plan in CSR, PDR, and all Gate reviewsCreate and maintain accurate budgets for program capital and tooling requirementsProcure New Manufacturing Tooling/Equipment
