Manufacturing  Engineer III

I.PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position will be responsible for process improvement as well as new design and implementation throughout manufacturing.  Manufacturing includes CNC machining, EDM, metal forming, as well as coating application and assembly.  This position will have a strong leader capable to implement change and drive rapid improvement, delivering technical, statistical reports, support new products introduction, quality problems and efficient productivity; completely   hands on position.  The ideal candidate should be able to continuously identify opportunities beyond those already identified.   

II.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Determine and maintain process specifications for all manufacturing processes in the facility, inside a metal-mechanic environment.Develop, evaluate and implement new manufacturing process.Elaborate plans to improve efficiency and coordinate with quality to decrease defects.Document the proper methods for operating machinery and processes according to standard operating procedures.Identify opportunities to reduce cost and develop plans to implement it.Provide response for quality and manufacturing issues that requires engineering expertise.Design of tooling and fixtures to increase efficiency.

Internal Relations:

Reports to Manufacturing Engineering Manager IIInteracts with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, Quality, RBS and other functional teams on a variety of process issues.Can interact as needed with Thomson and application engineering, quality  and other Regal Rexnord professionals to share best practices and collaborate on various initiatives.

External relations:

Interacts with suppliers as needed.And with Thomson Customer Service Application Engineers

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

Engineer degree with minimum 3 years of experienceHigh sense of urgency and be a self-starter, highly driven and solving problemGood communications skills, proactive and good team playerHighly OrganizeAble to handle multiple projectsFluent English Knowledge of ERP Software (like Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.)Process implementation, cells layout and controlsLean manufacturing tools knowledge, as an example VSM, PQPR, 5S’s, STD WorkExperience working with electronic assemblies preferred; working in the Aerospace industry / AS9100 is preferred.

MOST IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Strong Data analysis, statistical problem solving tools. 6 sigma project experience will be preferMS Excel medium or advance levelUnderstanding in machining process (CNC process strong preferred).Proficiency in blue prints reading and geometric & tolerances (GD&T).Computer Skills and proficiency in CAD softwareKnowledge, use and applications of measurement equipment.Use and application of manufacturing standards norms (ISO, ASTM).Skills in data analysis, statistical & solving problems tools skills. (MSA, Capability)Implementation of lean manufacturing tools, (desirable).Knowledge in manufacturing costing process, (desirable)
