What would you do as our Manufacturing Process Engineer?
You will provide technical support to achieve the safest work environment, the highest quality products for our customers, and the most efficient production processes. The work of a Manufacturing Process Engineer is often hands-on, interacting with shop floor personnel, quality, engineering and other manufacturing groups to ensure the most effective plans are created and implemented.
You would also:
Ensure compliance and perform all duties in accordance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations, including ISO14001 procedures. Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities throughout the manufacturing process and company. Research and analyze materials, tools, fixtures, and processes required to manufacture product in the most efficient manner. Collaborate with production and engineering teams, as appropriate, to identify, propose, plan, and implement process refinements and enhancements. Participate in continuous improvement events and utilize lean manufacturing techniques to help develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. Identify and validate savings opportunities involving labor, direct and indirect materials, process improvements, etc. Provide troubleshooting support for production related activities in area(s) of expertise. Design tools, fixtures, and productions aids to improve manufacturing efficiencies. Design manufacturing cell layouts to remove bottlenecks, improve throughput, etc. Develop and maintain the appropriate documentation for projects, fixtures, tooling, and assemblies. Develop standard work and manufacturing work instructions and maintain as required. Develop and document manufacturing change requests. Apply lean fundamentals and tools to plan line balancing, standard work, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout, material flow efficiency, continuous flow optimization and equipment utilization to improve efficiency and productivity. Collaborates with the continuous improvement team to conduct lean initiatives in the area including Kaizen events, projects and immediate implementation of improvements (Just Do Its). Identify and drive improvements in productivity, yield, scrap, rework, and down time to achieve operational objectives. Perform special assignments and projects as assigned Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial disciplines preferred) or a related field, preferred 2 to 5 years of direct work experience in a manufacturing environment Proficiency using AutoCAD or SolidWorks required. Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneously
