JOB SUMMARY
Support medical device manufacturing by developing processes, improving quality and performance, and driving continuous improvement through hands-on engineering and cross-functional collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide process engineering support for medical device manufacturing, including hands-on troubleshooting and failure analysis of CNC and electro-mechanical systems such as milling machines and lathes.Lead and support scrap reduction efforts, non-conformance investigations, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and yield.Drive continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN principles and Process Excellence tools to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce operational costs.Support new equipment acquisition, including machine selection, installation, validation, and coordination of employee training and documentation.Assist in production line reconfiguration and machine relocation activities, managing equipment arrival, positioning, and scheduling of support teams.Develop and maintain project schedules, track costs, prepare status reports, and facilitate meetings to communicate progress and align stakeholders.Write and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), and conduct training sessions for manufacturing personnel to ensure compliance and operational readiness.Promote open communication and collaboration across Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and site support teams to ensure alignment and effective problem-solving.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.Accepted: Associates Degree in an Engineering related field plus 5 years of relevant experience in an Engineer or Technician role.Accepted: No Degree, with Ten years relevant experience in an Engineer or Technician role in an Engineering field.ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Minimum of 1-year experience in a Manufacturing or Design Engineering environment (internships, co-ops, practical experience) is required.Experience with hands on failure analysis and equipment troubleshooting required.Project management and strong organizational skills required.Strong written, verbal communication, and computer skills required.Experience with FDA regulations or ISO standards desirable.Experience with SAP, AutoCAD, PTC Creo and MS Project desirable.Experience with automated systems and advanced measuring systems desirable.Experience with metal cutting equipment; mills, lathes or grinding machines desirable.OTHER
Supports and operates in a proactive, safe, climate-controlled environmentMust be willing to support global projects including up to 5% domestic travel.Willing to adjust schedule to support 2nd, 3rd and weekend operations on occasion as needed.Readiness to work in conditions that may be warm, cool and/or noisy along with exposure to oil, coolants and other manufacturing related chemicals.The pay range for this role is $58,800 - $94,200.
