Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes that support the production of products in assembly. This position utilizes a technical skill set to ensure the manufacturing process meets customer requirements and applies Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate non-value-added activities.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure new and existing processes are safe for employees, ergonomically correct, and compliant with OSHA requirements.Justify, install, and qualify capital equipment.Layout efficient, line-balanced production work cells to meet customer demand.Collaborate with Tool Designers to layout jig and fixture design.Initiate and implement Engineering Change Orders.Analyze and plan workforce utilization.Lead improvement teams in developing current and future state value stream mapping.Implement improvement projects using Six Sigma, 5-S, Standard Work, and other Continuous Improvement tools.Consult with Project Engineers on design for manufacturing of customer products.Confer with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange for purchase of materials and parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.Serve as the leader of the technical team in the fab area.Essential SkillsManufacturing engineering expertiseProcess improvement capabilitiesBachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentProject management experienceEffective oral and written communication skills across all levels of the organizationAdditional Skills & QualificationsLean Manufacturing CertificationAssembly process development, line balancing, tooling, and fixturingProficiency in Solidworks CAD designWork Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
