Job Description
In this exciting hands-on role, the Manufacturing Engineer II will work closely with the Operations team, Regulatory, R&D, Suppliers, and Quality in the development of processes necessary to optimize diabetes-related processes in a lean manufacturing environment. The role involves identifying and ensuring implementation of opportunities to optimize and improve manufacturing processes, utilizing engineering methods such as Six Sigma and LEAN, and employing technical skills to redesign and ensure equipment, tools, and fixtures meet standards.
ResponsibilitiesDesign manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, affecting product performance.Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and investigate and initiate corrective action for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and develop those techniques.Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.Support on-market products through end-of-life by maintaining quality standards and ensuring process line uptime.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Science required.Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience or advanced degree with 0 years of relevant experience.Problem-solving abilities.Design skills.Experience in medical devices.Knowledge of MSA Gage R&R.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in medical device manufacturing or manufacturing in a highly regulated industry/environment.Green Belt Certified; Black Belt Certified is a plus.PMP certified.CAPA experience.Proficiency in Minitab.Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and technical competency.Experience with value stream mapping and lean manufacturing.Knowledge and experience in AutoCAD/Solidworks for drafting plant layouts, manufacturing fixtures, engineering drawings, automation, etc.Strong communication skills for effective information presentation and collaboration with cross-functional groups.Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-person position located in Northridge, with work hours totaling 40 hours per week. The role may require travel less than 10% of the time. The work environment involves interaction with various technologies and equipment in a facility focused on lean manufacturing processes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.00/hr.
