Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the setup and optimization of work instructions for production builds of the LVM project. The ideal candidate will have experience working from CAD models to create manuals, organizing materials and processes for prototype builds, and enhancing manufacturing efficiency. This role plays a critical part in progressing the build process, leading into component testing, and ensuring seamless workflow from assembly to final testing. The product, LVM, is a ground-based vehicle with modular containers custom-built for military, disaster relief, and humanitarian efforts.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement standardized work instructions for production, incorporating drawing images and CAD references.Organize materials and processes for prototype builds, ensuring efficient assembly of shelters.Enhance efficiency in the movement of materials through assembly tables, testing stations, and final installation.Assist in the progression of various build stages, including mounting components like air conditioning units and ensuring proper testing procedures.Collaborate with electricians to ensure components are correctly integrated.Evaluate specifications, suggest alternative hardware solutions, and recommend component replacements.Investigate assembly failures, propose solutions, and lead improvements to streamline the production process.Utilize CAD and PLM systems, particularly Inventor and Inventor Vault, for design modifications and concept sketches.Essential Skills5+ years of shop floor experience.Strong mechanical experience with electrical knowledge as a plus.Expertise in DFA/DFM-level manufacturing and process improvements.Experience working from CAD models to develop manuals and work instructions.Proficiency in CAD tools like Inventor and PLM systems.Ability to collaborate with suppliers and evaluate specifications confidently.Strong problem-solving skills for proposing solutions for assembly failures.Additional Skills & QualificationsEngineer preferred.Familiarity with assembly, testing, and optimizing workflow efficiency.Work Environment

The role is based on-site at the assembly and production facility in Moncton, NB. The facility features a large floor space with washdown, paint, and assembly capabilities. You will work alongside technicians, engineers, and project managers. This full-time on-site position may offer the flexibility of working 3-4 days per week depending on project needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
