_Role Definition_
_Provides support and guidance on all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing._
_Responsibilities_
_• Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to equipment and processes._
_• Monitoring equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas._
_• Analyzing engineering change notices, determines any part or process change, initiates and implements all changes._
_• Providing engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities._
_Degree Requirement_
_Degree or equivalent experience desired_
_Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance._
_Level Working Knowledge:_
_• Discerns between "signal" and "noise" when considering courses of action._
_• Selects the right activities to work on from a range of competing priorities._
_• Stands by decisions in the face of conflict or unexpected outcome._
_• Makes the transition from evaluation to conclusion readily and in a timely manner._
_• Revisits decisions when appropriate, but infrequently and without disrupting focus._
_Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes._
_Level Working Knowledge:_
_• Discusses considerations for work cell design and effectiveness monitoring._
_• Finds solution for key technical and people problems associated with transformation to lean._
_• Explains issues and considerations of implementing lean in own function or area._
_• Selects and utilizes tools, techniques and measurements associated with a lean assessment._
_• Explains benchmarks and measures of effectiveness of lean._
_Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process._
_Level Extensive Experience:_
_• Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness._
_• Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks._
_• Trains others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process._
_• Participates in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies._
_• Selects and optimizes specific methodologies for specific products._
_• Evaluates benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies._
_Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution._
_Level Working Knowledge:_
_• Uses a specific discipline or approach to problem solving and resolution._
_• Records common problems and associated resolution alternatives._
_• Monitors problem resolution and provides feedback to customer._
_• Implements the established procedures for handling non-standard or unusual problems._
_• Works with features of problem reporting and tracking software._
