The Opportunity * Work with product management, sales, and operations to develop agreed upon inventory plan and action around forecasts. Provide data, report analysis, and appropriate recommendations to assist in effective inventory and business management. * Develops and maintains process to obtain agreement between product management and sales of forecast trends. * Manages inventory levels of finished goods. * Develops and manages a strategic inventory optimization work plan. * Facilitates conversations between product management, sales and manufacturing to determine appropriate Inventory adjustments. * Prepares findings on forecast; builds structure with multiple groups to address findings in the current marketplace and forecasts. * Forecast vs. Actual - determines where gaps exist and plans/adjusts inventory levels appropriately. * Audits sales forecast versus actual sales and makes recommendations. * Regularly reports to upper management on data analysis, including consumed finished goods and inventory trends. * Runs reports to better understand the business. * Performs other job duties as assigned. What you need to succeed: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in packaging, supply chain or related field required or equivalent experience. * Must have prior experience working in manufacturing, in a supply chain environment. * MRP/ERP knowledge and experience required. * Strong analytical skills. * Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups),Word, and Power Point * Must have strong math and accounting skills. * Ability to aggressively focus on change and prioritize competing tasks appropriately. * Must have a demonstrated ability to calculate inventory levels and production lead times. * Able to communicate in group and one-on-one settings with employees from all levels within the company. * Ability to maintain good attendance. * Must be reliable and dependable. * Able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation Smurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions.
