Start your new career as a Manual Welder with MAU at Columbia Vehicle Group in Aiken, SC. As a Manual Welder, you will fabricate and assemble metal structures and components using MIG, TIG, or spot welding techniques according to blueprints and quality specifications. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.
What We Offer: Pay of $21.25/hour Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Health benefits, including vision and dental Life insurance 401(k) (after one year of service) Temp-to-hire opportunity What We’re Looking For: High school diploma or GED 2+ years of welding experience Welding certifications - preferred Ability to: Pass welding qualification test Pass forklift qualification Pass pulmonary function and respirator fitness tests Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints Experience using gauges and measuring tools for part quality inspection Knowledge of operating warehouse equipment (hoists, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, forklifts) Ability to lift and apply 30 lbs. of force, and operate welding torch with precision What You’ll Do as a Manual Welder: Set up and operate MIG, TIG, or spot welding equipment to meet blueprint specifications Weld parts in flat, horizontal, or vertical positions according to engineering drawings Use tools and fixtures to load/unload and secure parts for welding Inspect finished welds to ensure quality standards are met Troubleshoot welding issues and recommend corrective actions Use warehouse equipment to move materials and parts Complete required documentation (work orders, quality checks, time logs) Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions Perform additional duties as needed
