Office Responsibilities: INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPHMannes Prep at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as a Tutor Generalist. We’re looking for a patient and responsible individual to support instruction. This position reports to the Director of Mannes Prep, and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in music, and K-12 education.
This is a SENS-UAW unit position as per the collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW, Local 7902 and the University.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

RESPONSIBILITIES Tutor students in music theory and ear training as assigned by the Tutoring Coordinator. Respond to email inquiries regarding tutoring assignments in a timely manner. Submit timesheets and tutoring session confirmation forms in a timely manner. Keep calendly link updated with open times for student appointments. Additional responsibilities as assigned to assist other students in out-of-class by tutoring and answering questions about course content taught in class.
WORK MODE Hybrid – Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours, as well as provide Zoom tutoring slots to Mannes Prep sessions during the week. Sessions should be scheduled in the after-school hours.
SALARY RANGE Hourly Rate: $29.20 (AY25-26), with contractual increases outlined in CBA
Hours per Week: Up to 10, as needed Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS For each class you wish to tutor, minimum qualifications are as follows: Obtain faculty recommendation Excellent content knowledge in subject matter Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to patiently and efficiently provide instructional support to Mannes Prep students. Ability to self-schedule tutoring sessions, once assigned. Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Recipient of a Federal Work Study Award. Previous K-12 music education experience. Current student in a College of Performing Arts degree program.
