Mandate Area Manager (Meat & Seafood)
**DESCRIPTION** The **Mandate Area Manager (Meat & Seafood)** is responsible for the management and development of a group of Mandate Retail Service Merchandisers/Lead Merchandisers, and for representing Acosta, our clients, and our customers by effectively supervising and managing reset and remodel work. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, quick learner, has a strong attention to detail, and is effective at leading and managing a geographically distributed team. They must possess excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with business partners. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Provide effective leadership and management to Mandate Retail Service Merchandiser/Lead Merchandiser team in assigned geographic area by interviewing and hiring candidates, on-boarding and training new associates, managing performance and career development, managing conflict and personnel issues, and providing coaching and support. + Develop a strong understanding of the business model, Client and Customer details and expectations, and the specific details of the reset and remodel work processes. Work in the field periodically to better understand reset and remodel requirements. Provide backup support for reset and remodel work as needed. + Manage assigned reset and remodel to completion, on time, and with high quality results. Review reset and remodels details to verify schedule is accurate and achievable, and supporting documentation is current and correct. Assign reset and remodel to Mandate Retail Service Merchandisers/Lead Merchandisers and ensure that all jobs have the appropriate level of support. Monitor progress and audit reset and remodel work. Answer questions, solve problems, resolve personnel issues, and adjust resources as needed. Ensure the delivery of all materials, supplies and equipment necessary for assigned reset and remodel work. + Partner with store personnel and Mandate team to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence, discuss schedules and changes, meet goals and expectations, and build an effective working relationship. Be proactive in alerting management to any unsafe act or condition to prevent injuries. + Report and discuss observations, issues, and business solutions with Mandate Market Manager. + Effectively and accurately work with web-based applications to receive notification of reset and remodel work, receive and review work documentation and information, maintain Mandate Retail Service Merchandiser/Lead Merchandiser profiles and assign reset and remodel work, monitor progress and status of reset and remodel work, record and manage work mileage, work expenses, and work time and attendance, and complete and manage training activities. Utilize and fully understand Acosta’s retail reports and reporting systems. + Effectively and accurately prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to assigned reset and remodel work for Mandate Retail Service Merchandiser/Lead Merchandiser team. + Effective Communication: The ability to clearly convey information and expectations to team members, ensuring everyone is on the same page and understands their roles and responsibilities. + Team Development: Skills in mentoring, coaching, and developing team members to enhance their performance and career growth. This includes providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements. + Conflict Resolution: The capability to manage and resolve conflicts within the team in a fair and effective manner, maintaining a positive and productive work environment. + Performance Management: Experience in setting performance goals, monitoring progress, and conducting performance reviews to ensure team members are meeting their objectives. + Strategic Thinking: The ability to think strategically and make decisions that align with the company's goals and objectives, while also considering the long-term impact on the team. + Adaptability: Being flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and leading the team through transitions and challenges with resilience. + Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with team members, clients, and other stakeholders. + Integrity and Trust: Demonstrating ethical behavior and building trust within the team by being honest, sincere, and confident. + These capabilities will ensure that the Mandate Manager, Area can effectively lead and manage their team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. + Other duties as assigned **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education Requirements:** + High School Diploma/GED + Bachelor’s Degree **Work Experience Requirements:** + 2+ years management/supervisory experience. + Proven prior sales agent, retail, customer service or reset responsibility experience preferred. + 2+ years Meat and Seafood Sales and Merchandising experience. + Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, decision making and leadership skills. Must be able to read and communicate effectively with others. + Work effectively in web-based applications and email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
