ERM is seeking an experienced Managing Technical Consultant, Geospatial Scientist to join Portland, OR office. The Managing Technical Consultant, Geospatial Scientist will join an existing team of professionals to leverage geospatial and other data analysis and visualization technologies in support of our core services. These include investigation and remediation, impact assessment, environmental planning and permitting, energy infrastructure studies, health and safety, and sustainability related services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with and manage members of a multidisciplinary team to ensure GIS and data deliverables meet or exceed our clients’ needs.
Plan, design, implement, and maintain large, complex, multiyear GIS projects for key ERM clients.
Organize and manage project data, analysis, and mapping following company protocols and industry best practices.
Prioritize, organize, perform, and direct numerous work assignments to junior staff in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.
Publish and maintain ArcGIS web-based map services and applications.
Integrate disparate data formats beyond traditional Esri geospatial formats, including KML/KMZ, CAD, LiDAR, Sharepoint, Office 365, Salesforce, and other sources of geospatial and business data.
Serve as a technical resource in assisting others to troubleshoot and resolve problems with specialized GIS software and infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, natural sciences or comparable field.
4+ years applied professional experience using Esri’s ArcGIS 10x, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online suite of software and extensions or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced experience with data management including organizing and maintaining complex projects containing geospatial and tabular data, aprxs, custom tools and toolboxes, analysis output, maps, and SQL enterprise geodatabases.
Experience designing and developing ArcGIS Online web maps and customized web apps utilizing ArcGIS Server, and integration of Online, Mobile, and Desktop technologies.
Experience building, deploying, and supporting Esri mobile applications such as Field Maps, Survey123, and Operations Dashboard.
Experience with GIS visualization of environmental data from site investigation and remediation projects stored in relational data management systems.
Experience interpreting analytical data in soil and groundwater, interpolating potentiometric surfaces and understanding remediation designs.
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Access; and the integration of spreadsheets, relational database tables, and text files in ArcGIS.
Strong oral and written communication skills, keen orientation to detail, and an eye for professional presentation and aesthetics in project deliverables (maps, charts, graphs, tables, and other visualizations).
Previous experience leading and working effectively with others in a team environment to deliver quality projects on time and within budgets.
Experience as a primary point-of-contact on mid- to large-scale GIS projects.
Proven experience designing and building workflows used by a GIS team on large complex projects.
Thorough knowledge of the technical application, concepts, principles, and theories in GIS and GPS.
Self-motivated, quick learning, curious, resourceful, flexible individual with a common-sense approach to conducting business and workload management.
PREFERRED:
Master’s degree in geography, GIS, natural sciences or comparable field.
6+ years or more project management experience, overseeing project staff, responsible for budget, deliverables, project schedules, and writing proposals.
Experience with the EQuIS (Environmental Quality Information System) relational data management system and integrating it into cartographic production.
Experience using ArcGIS Pro in a production setting, utilizing Python geoprocessing tools for ArcPro.
