Managing Principal - Forensic Accounting

An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Managing Principal within our Forensic Accounting team in Auckland, New Zealand.


The Forensic team is a key business unit within the Claims Solutions practice— a specialized division dedicated to providing expert insurance-related accounting and analytical services. The Managing Principal serves as the NZ Practice Leader, overseeing engagement planning and delivery, including risk management, policy coverage, work plans, resourcing, and client reporting.
We are recognized as global leaders in pre-loss consulting and post-event claims preparation across areas such as Property Damage, Business Interruption, Product Recall, and Cyber.


This position reports to the Head of Forensic – Pacific and the Head of Advisory – NZ, leading a team of professionals to achieve operational results. The role involves guiding the team in establishing goals, solving problems, and collaborating across the organization. Additionally, it entails managing various forensic accounting projects, ensuring effective communication of financial data to stakeholders, and providing strategic advice to help clients mitigate their risk exposures.

We will count on you to:

Lead and manage the Forensic Accounting team in Auckland, overseeing financial responsibilities, engagement planning, delivery, risk management, and client reporting.Develop and grow the NZ team, setting goals, mentoring staff, and supporting their professional development.Manage engagement economics, support proposal development, and lead or support client projects as Project Manager.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders, providing strategic risk management advice.Identify new business opportunities, develop project proposals, and contribute to expanding the NZ forensic practice.

What you need to have:

Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in insurance, forensic accounting, audit, or related fields, with proven leadership in large-scale claims or forensic engagements.University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business; CA or CPA qualification required.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Word and Excel (advanced formulas preferred).Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex information clearly.Industry experience within the insurance sector, with a solid understanding of insurance policies and claims processes.
