A global engineering services company with a strong presence in the maritime sector is looking for a dynamic Managing Director to take full ownership of its Benelux operations. This is a hybrid leadership role, part commercial strategist, part operational leader, for someone who thrives on growing business and running a tight ship.

With sustainability high on the agenda and a strong foundation already in place, this is a chance to step into a senior leadership role with real autonomy, responsibility, and visibility across the global business.

The Opportunity:

You’ll be the regional head, overseeing commercial development and operational performance across the Benelux. That includes full P&L accountability, team leadership, business growth, and ensuring seamless execution of services on the ground. You’ll also act as a key driver of the company’s push into environmental and sustainability-focused solutions.
You won’t be alone – you’ll work closely with the European leadership team, and have global resources behind you. But the day-to-day? That’s yours to run.

Core Responsibilities: Serve as the Managing Director for the Benelux region, leading both commercial and operational activities Take full P&L ownership and drive the overall business performance across sales, service delivery, and cost control Lead the Sales & Business Development strategy, expanding existing services and launching new offerings, particularly in sustainability and green technologies Ensure high standards of operational execution across workshops, field services, and customer sites Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth Represent the company across the region, acting as the senior face of the business with clients, partners, and stakeholders Monitor and report on business KPIs, delivering regular updates to the global leadership team Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, safety, and ethical standards Work closely with other regional MDs and global functions to ensure best practice sharing and alignment Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, acquisitions, or market expansion opportunities in the region What We’re Looking For: A proven leader with a strong commercial background and solid operational experience, ideally from the maritime, engineering, or industrial services sector Experience in running a P&L and leading multi-functional teams A strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability Deep understanding of the Benelux market, and a strong local business network Familiarity with sustainability trends and green tech in the maritime or industrial space An open communicator with the presence and credibility to lead both internally and externally Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French would be a strong advantage The Reward
