Managing Clerk
Insight Global is seeking a Managing Clerk to join a prestigious law firm in NYC. This firm generates $3 billion in revenue and caters to clients in key hubs of business, finance, technology, and government. The managing clerk will oversee the managing clerks office, providing expertise on procedural aspects of matters handled by the firms litigators. In this position, the managing clerk will serve as an expert in the New York office on federal and state court rules and procedures. The managing clerk is expected to research and explain court rules, procedures, in all courts in which the firm practices or seeks to practice, as well as be proficient in searching and extracting information from court-related databases.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Manage and maintain firms litigation docketing and calendar controls. Lead efforts to improve and upgrade automated docketing, calendaring, and litigation records.
Manage and coordinate the service, filing, monitoring, and retrieval function for litigation cases, including the e-filing process. Maintain ECF/PACER accounts for firm attorneys.
Update and maintain software applications for the firms docketing and calendaring needs. Monitor rules and procedures and stays informed of changes that effect docketing and calendaring function.
Advise attorneys and other professionals, at both the department and practice group level, on federal, state, and local civil practice. Review and draft routine legal documents.
Keep litigation department apprised of changes to court rules and notable case law on civil practice and procedure. Research procedural questions using all available sources, including case law, practice books, and online legal research tools.
Assist in the training of the Litigation Clerks and Assistant Managing Clerk(s) on all aspects of service, filing, monitoring, retrieval, rules and procedure, docketing and calendaring functions in all relevant courts and venues.
Contribute to firm knowledge management-related initiatives as they pertain to litigation case files, docketing, records management, sample pleadings database and other similar areas of function within the litigation department.
Convey best practices in paper and electronic litigation file maintenance and electronic docketing and calendaring.

This is a full-time position and will be based in NYC in the office 3 days a week, 2 days working remotely.

Compensation
The base salary of this role ranges from $130k-$200k.
This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
