How will you make an impact in this role?
This position, based in Mexico City, will support the Tax Controversy Director and be responsible for supporting all aspects relating to Tax Controversy and Tax Authority Audits (including Corporate Income Tax, VAT and Transfer pricing) for all Mexican legal entities.
· Supporting all aspects and stages of tax audits and controversies with the tax authority including any settlement and/or litigation proceedings
· Take the lead and work collaboratively with other groups across the organization to ensure the appropriate level of support is available in support of all audits.
· Work collaboratively with and support the planning/advisory teams to align on the technical tax positions to be taken during tax authority and statutory audits.
· Identify and communicate any potential impacts of audits with tax leaders on a timely basis
Minimum Qualifications
· Post-secondary degree in law or accounting with a minimum 8+ years experience in Corporate Income Tax, VAT and Transfer Pricing. At least 2 years of experience at a manager position dealing with Tax Controversy matters.
· Experience in drafting responses to the tax authority (preferably for multinational companies).
· Experience in creating audit support for tax positions satisfying both the formal traceability requirements with substance requirements.
· Experience in the PRODECON process including preparation of support and participating in discussions
· Strong interpersonal skills, natural collaborator who can engage with multiple stakeholders to obtain information in support of tax audits.
· Experience with a Big 4 firm and/or multinational in the financial sector is preferred.
· Advanced English, written and spoken.
