Manager - Store / Showroom
The KEC Manager, K&B Mexico has the primary responsibility for managing the staff, the operations, and the financial concerns within the KEC while representing Kohler Kitchen & Bath in the highest manner possible within the marketplace. This responsibility includes effective supervision of the administrative staff and the sales staff, adherence to company policies and procedures and attainment of profitability and financial objectives within the showroom. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Financial Performance: • Meet and exceed the sales plan. • Participate in annual budget planning process. • Monitor payroll regarding variable salary. • Monitor all showroom expenses. • Manage all product inventories and maintain accurate inventory records. • Monitor and account for the petty cash within the showroom. 2. Staff Management: • Determine and maintain the appropriate level of staff to service effectively the customer base. • Recruit new staff in conjunction with HR when additional associates are approved and required. • Monitor the performance of the sales staff daily. Provide assistance and coaching when necessary. Conduct monthly performance review with each sales associate. • Conduct and document performance reviews with each associate of the showroom on an annual basis. • In conjunction with your superior, set and review sales goals with each Sales Associate on an annual basis. • Implement progressive discipline if needed and document and report any disciplinary actions to the HR area. Terminate staff members when necessary. • Conduct weekly meetings with entire staff. • Identify training needs and provide training for associates when necessary. 3. KEC Operations • Comply with and implement all showroom operational Kohler policies and procedures. • Oversee merchandising displays and ensure that Kohler standards are met. • Complete the Monthly Business Recap in a timely and accurate manner. • Learn and maintain relevant knowledge regarding the product, history and current events that relate to Kohler and its suppliers. • Creation & Management of Quotes (Quote Generation & Management) • Placement of & Management of Orders (Creation of Order, Payment Processing, Invoice Generation, Order Fulfilment etc) • Post Visit Follow Up (Lead Management, Returns Processing, Defect Management) 4. Customer Service • Work with support staff and Sales Associates to ensure that all customers are serviced according to Kohler standards. • Intervene with customer issues when the Sales Associate or Customer Service Associate cannot obtain resolution. • Monitor staff performance with respect to customer service. 5. Marketing • Work with the Marketing area and showroom staff to plan and execute promotional events. • Represent Kohler within the marketplace and the design community to enhance our standing among our customers and potential customers. • Organize and coordinate small events within the Showroom and keep the showroom atmosphere always gracious and with the Kohler high level of excellence. 6. Communication • Build strong relationships with the opinion leaders of the segment: architects, interior designers, editors, etc including visits to them when necessary. • Maintain good working relationships with all supplier representatives. • Maintain good working relationships with the local delivery service to ensure that Kohler standards are met for all deliveries. • Maintain good working relationships with local repair personnel. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS 1. Supervisory Relationships: Reports to GM Mexico 2. Reporting relationships: Salesperson 3. Organizational relationships: Daily contact with customers Daily contact with vendors and vendor staff Occasional contact with staff at other Kohler Showrooms and Stores Occasional contact with Marketing, Finance and HR Confidential Communication: Information is for use only by approved users. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS This position requires prior retail, showroom or architectural/design firm experience, with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience, and a minimum of 3 years of experience managing a sales team within a department or store location. Bachelor’s degree in business or management, or Architecture or Design is preferred. Plumbing and tile industry experience is a plus. Experience in a luxury sales environment is a must. Fluency in English is a “plus”.
