Northrop Grumman is looking for you to join our team as a Manager, Software Engineering 2 to join our team based in McClellan, CA.
What You'll Get To Do:
This is a dual-role technical manager position. Management duties will require tasking and coordination of approximately 10-15 staff, and process and resource co‐ordination with functional homeroom management. The manager will also be expected to perform technical work on programs. It is anticipated that given the size of the functional team, the split between program and functional duties will be approximately 80 program / 20 functional, on average. The direct program work may include technical work, IPT leadership, or any other appropriate technical function.
As a member of our team you will:
Supporting a team of 10-15 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.Leading program engineering execution for hardware design and deployment projects.Accountable to stakeholders and program managers for status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution.Partnering with program management office to ensure successful execution against cost, schedule and hiring targets.Providing technical leadership to the team and ensuring proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.Work with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls; develop appropriate technical training; and improve team performance.Debug existing software tools and support implementation of new capabilities.Support the current and future development of test platforms within function, cost and schedule constraintsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience (or Master of Science degree with 6 years; Phd with 4 years) within a related engineering field.Strong foundational knowledge of the following programming languages: Python & C++.Candidate must be a US Citizen per program requirements. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance per customer requirements.Preferred Qualifications:
A Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 6+ years within a related engineering field.Experience managing teams of 10 or more.Experience working in a lab environment.Experience writing and automating unit and integration tests.Developed software that interfaces and communicates with lab hardware. Experience designing and implementing solutions with minimal requirements.Ability to automate experimental tasks using high level and built-in software languagesFull life cycle design, implementation, and feature/automated testing of software.Active U.S. government security clearance/ US CitizenWhat We Can Offer You:
