Northrop Grumman Mission System (NGMS) sector is looking for you to join our team as a Manager, Software Engineering 1 to join our team based in McClellan, CA.
What You'll Get To Do:
The software engineering manager will lead a section of approximately 8-12 application software engineers working within the NorCal site in McClellan. The successful candidate will lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary. Program Execution and Engineering Excellence are our driving forces.
The qualified candidate shall also be a technical performer, working approximately 80% directly on the program and 20% on functional management duties.
As a member of our team you will:
Support a team of 8-12 technical staff in management role. Lead program engineering execution for hardware design and deployment projects.Accountable to stakeholders and program managers for status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution.Partner with program management office to ensure successful execution against cost, schedule and hiring targets.Provide technical leadership to the team and ensuring proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.Work with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls; develop appropriate technical training; and improve team performance.Debug existing software tools and support implementation of new capabilities.Support the current and future development of test platforms within function, cost and schedule constraints
Basic Qualifications:
BS + 5 years of exp in related STEM field; MS + 3 years of exp. The candidate must have a full understanding of his/her specific discipline with would include object orientated programming experience in C++/Java/LabVIEW Active Top Secret Security/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) ClearanceCandidate must be able to work on site at the McClellan, California facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a lab environment.Previous experience as a functional manager or technical team leader.Experience with DevOps technologies including Atlassian suite, JenkinsFamiliarity with EVMS Reporting and CAM responsibilitiesExperience writing and automating unit and integration tests.Experience designing and implementing solutions with minimal requirements.Ability to automate experimental tasks using high level and built-in software languagesFull life cycle design, implementation, and feature/automated testing of software.

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,900.00 - $194,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
