The Manager provides leadership, direction, and resource management for social workers in the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Provides effective leadership in resolving psychosocial issues, and removes barriers and complexities for social workers to effectively facilitate continuity of patient care. Develops and creates ownership for the department's vision and planning, fostering teamwork and an open creative environment for staff. Coordinates, implements, and evaluates staff development and manages staff performance proactively and decisively. Supports staff leadership activities, including community involvement and participation in committees and research. Facilitates the review and interpretations of regulatory standards and reporting requirements; oversees the selection, orientation, and performance management of work unit personnel; participates in section/unit planning; and attends appropriate meetings to gain and share necessary information with other areas. Completes other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program required. Minimum of five years of either hospital-based social work, including discharge planning, or the same in an ambulatory outpatient clinic and five years of supervisory/management experience in a medical setting. Adheres to the NASW Code of Ethics and NASW Standards for Social Work Practice in Healthcare Settings. Must have a Minnesota license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
