Exp: 12+ Years. Experience in sensor development
Education: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / (B.E) in Mechatronics, EEE
Location: Hosur
Department: R&D
Reports To: Head Engineering
Functional Area: Sensors
Role and Responsibilities
Define system-level sensor architecture for Automotive and Non-Automotive segments. Conduct feasibility analysis of sensor interfaces and designs based on customer needs and ISO 26262. Create terminal/wiring harness diagrams with safety mechanisms (e.g., integrated coupler, case). Perform system-level DFMEA and FTA. Capture customer requirements and coordinate with hardware/software teams for implementation. Design and integrate hardware/software interfaces, troubleshoot, and test components. Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, product, and manufacturing teams for system integration. Work with sensor element suppliers to select appropriate components and assist the purchase team with costing. Conduct system-level testing and validation both on test benches and vehicles. Research sensor technologies and applications; define product roadmap. Prepare technical documentation and presentations. Follow EMC/EMI design and validation practices. Optimize sensor designs to meet BoM (Bill of Material) cost targets. Plan and execute projects to meet delivery schedules.Required Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of various sensors (temperature, pressure, speed, hall effect, ultrasonic). Sensor interface and control strategy experience. Microcontroller design and sensor algorithm understanding. Circuit and power electronics design. Automotive electronics/mechatronics product background. ISO 26262, FMEA/FTA expertise. Knowledge of sensor packaging (molding, welding, potting, etc.) Understanding of sensor manufacturing processes and end-of-line specs. Experience designing validation plans for sensors.Behavioural & Project Skill
Strong coordination with cross-functional teams. Customer handling and clear communication. Project planning, self-organization, and meeting deadlines.
