TITLE: Manager, Quality Control

LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN

REPORTS TO:  QC Manager


As the QC Manager, you will lead the quality assurance function at the country or local business unit level, ensuring that all raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet technical specifications, perform reliably, and comply with internal standards, external regulations, and relevant certifications.

You will be responsible for maintaining and managing quality control systems and laboratory operations to deliver accurate and timely data that supports customer requirements, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Leveraging your technical expertise, deep knowledge of the corn wet milling industry, and alignment with company objectives, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, and customers to uphold and continuously improve product quality.

What you will do:

Provide accurate and timely quality control data and services to internal and external customers. Accountable for ensuring the quality of data generated in the laboratory.

Provide support to audits for compliance to quality systems as per customer, quality, and regulatory systems. Knowledgeable in GMP, API regulations, inspection guidelines, sanitation, food regulations, pest control, and product safety.

Maintain expertise in the analysis of products and in the processing parameters affecting product quality.

Manage the quality control laboratory to optimize the value of testing performed.

Ensure a safe lab environment and appropriate chemical hygiene and safety training of laboratory personnel.

Ensure maintenance of existing quality systems to meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Monitor the quality and safety of incoming supplies. Assist in auditing suppliers of materials and services (warehouses, break stations, etc.), as needed.

Work with operations and quality assurance to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with regulations, company standards, and customer requirements.

Work with operation units to evaluate testing and sampling programs for effectiveness and efficiency.

Serve as an expert on analytical testing parameters and provide technical assistance to both internal and external customers.

Initiate new quality systems to support developing business needs.

Evaluate and introduce new equipment and methodologies to keep laboratory performance up to date.

Ensure the appropriate training of laboratory personnel. Maintain appropriate training and proficiency testing records and working climate needed to attain objectives.

Manage the workforce to staff the laboratory as dictated by business needs. Schedule workers to ensure coverage. Work with other laboratory managers to provide flexibility in overall laboratory operations.

Provide technical leadership to the laboratory.

Provide organizational strength and ensure individual growth is developed and maintained within the organization.

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.

Preferably 7-10 years of experience working in the area of quality control/quality control with experience managing direct reports.

Significant experience in managing a quality control laboratory within a related industry.

Knowledge of corn wet milling products and processes.

Experience working in a food plant environment, including compliance with applicable regulations governing the various product lines.

Pay Range:

$98,800.00-$131,733.33 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
