As the Manager - Purchasing and Inventory, you will have complete responsibility for all purchasing and inventory activities including management of inventory for the company.

Responsibilities:

 Collaborate with inventory control, sales, engineering to develop metrics for gauging inventory levels needs and then maintaining those levels year over year. Takes the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow moving stock to help offset write offs.   Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships, optimize inventory levels and increase service levels while reducing carrying costs.  Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all buyers are meeting performance standards  Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff  Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department  Conducts performance evaluations  Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy  Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company as needed  Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly Maintains inventory databases Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies Collaborates with sales, customer service, operations and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Related Field required. 8 years required, 10 years preferred of relevant experience. 3 years required, 5 years preferred of ERP Inventory Management Software experience. Strategic and Optimized inventory Analytical data with robust KPI’s Proficient in Excel Lean Background Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Strong Knowledge of Supply Chain Distribution Channel
