Manager - Procurement Analytics

The Global Procurement (GP) organization at United Airlines is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services, as well as managing relationships with third-party suppliers. Our role is critical in driving operational efficiency by overseeing the entire procure-to-pay process and ensuring the strategic acquisition of goods and services essential to the airline’s success. We are committed to optimizing costs, maintaining supplier quality, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards, all while supporting operational excellence and aligning with United’s broader business objectives.

Enablement Team, in GP, plays a crucial role in spend analytics, system and processes, supplier risk management, value capture and cost saving, and contract management, all to create efficiency and ensure seamless operations.

This team is seeking a Procurement Analytics Manager. The objective of this role is to gather and structure supplier spend data (direct and indirect) and provide data-driven insights, to support GP team optimize their procurement strategies and purchasing decisions. Key responsibilities include data ingestion from various sources, transformation, cleaning, integration, classification, and modeling. Role will be analytical with focus on data engineering, data classification, and providing meaningful insights by utilizing technical dashboards. Additionally, the role will encompass specific data workflow improvements and project management.

Utilize various data methodologies including data collection, cleansing, mapping, integration, classification, enrichment, analysis, quality assurance, and reporting and visualization techniques.

Employ advanced data engineering techniques, leveraging cutting-edge tools like SQL Coding, Palantir Foundry, Alteryx, Spreadsheets as Excel, and dashboards such as Power BI

Develop and improve current data structure and apply necessary automations to support three main objectives: the completeness, accuracy, and reliability of data.

Regularly monitoring and analyzing performance data to ensure quality, timely delivery, and adherence to KPIs.

Identify trends in purchasing data to optimize sourcing strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities

Analyzing spending patterns to identify areas where costs can be reduced through better negotiation, supplier consolidation, or process improvements is critical.

Understanding of AI capabilities in Data and be able to drive IT towards integrating AI in procurement analytics

Analyze and understand the data workflow within various procurement platforms, including their interconnectivity and communication channels.

Integrate and leverage data from various systems.

Suggest improvements towards data workflows and data efficiency.

Find system and process gaps, while presenting solutions and best practices to fix them.

Work closely with teams and cross functions to improve data efficiency.

Utilize data to provide meaningful insights for stakeholders in procurement and cross functions.

Foster strong collaboration with teams, to ensure comprehensive fulfillment of their data requirements.

Work closely with IT and business operation partners to ensure that data is complete and accurate, so to serve the right purpose.

Manage business relationships effectively with all key stakeholders across Business Divisions.

Manage and mentor team members, provide guidance and input on all mentioned responsibilities.

Train and develop individuals and all team members on spend data analysis and relevant tools.

Manage people relationships effectively with all key stakeholders across teams and divisions.

Lead meetings, set agendas, organize memos and notes, and task tracking.
