Our 114,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries. **The Opportunity** As the Manager of Procurement, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring all purchasing activities to ensure that the goods, materials, supplies, and services acquired by the organization meet established standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. This role is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and supplier performance across the organization. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in plastics and injection molding, who can bring specialized industry knowledge to sourcing strategies, vendor negotiations, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing supplier relationships, implementing procurement best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or production environment. **What You’ll Work On** + Liaise with managers across divisions to anticipate their demand for goods and materials. + Develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing purchasing activities. + Evaluate and select suppliers. + Negotiate terms for major purchases within established limits of authority. + Develop policies, checklists, and other materials that describe the organization’s technical, quality, service, or reliability standards to help purchasing staff evaluate supplier proposals. + Analyze and evaluate the organization’s overall purchasing trends to potential bulk purchases. + Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs. + Select and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. + Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of purchasing staff to ensure the team’s resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. + Develop category and sourcing strategies for near term results and long-term planning **Required Qualifications** + Bachelors in Plastic Engineering, Procurement, or Industrial Engineering + Minimum 7 years' experience as Procurement Professional or Engineering, + Negotiation capabilities + Project manager skills + Strong communication skills + Influence skills **Preferred Qualifications** + MBA **Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:** www.abbottbenefits.com Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life. The base pay for this position is $111,300.00 – $222,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
