Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **JOB DUTIES** **:** This position will be responsible for : •Manage 2 Buyers and 1 SDE for procurement of Light Fabrications / Enclosures / Front Pins / Forging & Casting parts / Non-Metal parts in Fabrication Category Japan team •Major suppliers – current total 19 suppliers •Lead management for SCC (Supplier Collaboration Cloud), Commodity Agreement, CPA (Commodity Purchasing Agreement) and PIA (Pricing Increase Agreement) for objective parts. •Lead planning and follow up of RBM (Rolling Business Management) and ABP (Annual Business Plan) for tooling plans and parts price changes of objective parts. •Lead projects : New Fab supplier development, Re-organization of fab supply chain. •Lead NPE (Network Planning & Execution), AoS (Assurance of Supply) planning and improvement of Fab suppliers with considering rationalization and automatization. •Lead collaboration with Akashi Transformation project. •Annual total spend : USD71-160M/year (actual performance in the past 3 years) **EXPERIENCES / SKILLS** **:** •Previous purchasing experience or skills required. •Bachelor’s degree – or equivalent experience required. •Able to acquire an understanding of governmental, environmental, political, and geographic factors that influence a supply base. •Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management preferred, e.g.; Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified in Production and Inventory management (CPIM) and Certified in Integration Resource Management (CIRM), or comparable international certification is preferred. •Affiliation with Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), or comparable professional purchasing organization, preferred. •Proficiency in English is required; Local site language preferred. •Previous 6 Sigma Greenbelt/Black Belt experience preferred. •Knowledge of Quality, Cost Modeling, and NPI tools is preferred. •Lean manufacturing, an understanding of lean principles is preferred. •Incumbent must have well-developed communication and negotiation skills. **Posting Dates:** May 9, 2025 - May 16, 2025 Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).
