The Manager of Predictive Maintenance Engineering is responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on developing and implementing innovate predictive alerting and health monitoring solutions to improve operational reliability of United’s aircraft, engines and/or other capital assets.
The Manager will guide and facilitate a team of engineers throughout the alert evaluation and development process which will include but be not limited to developing an understanding of aircraft system operation, evaluation of data availability, and coordination with other stakeholders to ensure robust solutions are crafted with the intent to turn unexpected system failures into scheduled maintenance.
The Manager will be a liaison for predictive maintenance engineering across the Tech Ops organization and will be an active participant in aircraft and engine reliability discussions to ensure robust reliability solutions are developed for the fleet.
Manage the team’s delivery of health monitoring and predictive maintenance use cases and alerts for their fleet area of focus (aircraft, engines or other assets) and facilitate the development of solutions to address key reliability and operational issues using asset dataCollaborate with Data Science and Digital Technology teams to deploy use cases and incorporate new features in predictive maintenance and health monitoring products as required to operationalize alertsDevelop, evaluate and maintain queue of predictive use case opportunities in-line with Tech Ops strategic directionProvide ongoing reporting of predictive alert performance and effectiveness, incorporate alert performance reporting into United’s reliability program and recommend alert retraining or logic updates as required for their fleet area of focus (aircraft, engines or other assets)Effectively coordinate and communicate with other stakeholders within United to drive meaningful operational integration of alertingNOTE: This position is based at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL and considered as a hybrid work-schedule, in-office 3 days (Tue-Thu), however that may evolve with the needs of the company
