As a RAN Capacity & Analytics Manager, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the wireless user experience by planning TELUS' network capacity. Drive the capacity expansion strategy of our 5G network, which reaches over 87% of Canada's population, providing unparalleled reliability, capacity, speed, and low latency. Leverage cutting-edge analytics and geospatial modeling to make data-driven decisions for strategic 5G RAN capacity planning. Collaborate on innovative solutions like virtualized and Open RAN (O-RAN) networks, positioning TELUS as a leader in next-generation wireless infrastructure. Continuously improve network performance to meet the ever-growing demands of our customers and support emerging technologies.

What you’ll do

 

Lead and Develop Your Team

Manage a team of RAN engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure aligned network strategies

Optimize Network Capacity During Peak Hours

Develop and implement strategies to manage network capacity during peak times, ensuring consistent performance for all users

Ensure Network Reliability During High Traffic Events

Plan and execute network capacity enhancements for large-scale events such as concerts, sports games, and festivals

Enhance Performance Modeling

Develop sophisticated models to predict and analyze network performance across various metrics: upload and download throughput, latency and voice service quality Utilize advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to improve the accuracy of these models and translate model insights into actionable strategies for network upgrades

Strategic Planning and Reporting

Develop long-term capacity plans aligned with TELUS' network evolution strategy Create and present regular reports on network performance, capacity utilization, and improvement initiatives to senior management Budget planning and resource allocation for network expansion and upgrades

 

Qualifications


What you bring

 

Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of RAN and Open RAN technologies, network capacity, AI and machine learning  Leadership: Visionary in network technologies, strategic planning, and digital transformation leadership  People Skills: Strong coaching, mentoring abilities, and effective communication skills across various stakeholders  Innovation: Proven innovative mindset, adaptability, and analytical problem-solving  Operational Excellence: Experience in automation, project management, and risk management  Business Insight: Customer-focused approach, understanding telecom trends, cost optimization, and aligning initiatives with business goals  Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication, Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field 5+ years of experience working in telecom industry performing RAN capacity or optimization roles

Advanced AI/ML Experience: Development of AI-powered solutions, reinforcement, and federated learning. Certifications: Specialized certifications in network technologies and executive leadership. Interdisciplinary Background: Knowledge in physics, advanced mathematics, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
