Manager Patient Access

Responsibilities: Coordinate with the patient access team in the operations of daily job responsibilities. Develop, recommend, and oversee the implementation and administration of policies and procedures of patient admissions and bill auditing services. Evaluate process and procedures and coordinate with the management team to ensure efficient patient processing, bed utilization, and adherence to federal and local laws and regulations. Demonstrate, through plans and actions, a consistent standard of excellence to which all department work is expected to conform. Focus on continuous improvement working with the Senior Manager and Patient Access Managers across the Health System with a goal of delivering the highest degree of quality service possible. Provide support for Human Resource guidance. Complete, review, manage and monitor department budget. Directs and leads the patient access team in the daily operations. Represents Patient Access on various committees and teams and in meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Leadership skills. Experience working with patients in a hospital setting. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Expert knowledge in Billing Processes Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree highly desired. At least 3 years of leadership experience within healthcare industry. Physical Requirements: See, read, and/or operate computers, telephones, office equipment, documents, labels, including manipulating paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. Remain sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment. Frequent interactions with associates, patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require associate to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information banding patients, etc. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items (over 5 lbs.). For this US-based position, the base pay range is $70,000.00 - $95,406.36 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
