Manager - Operations (Contract Management)

Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express. * The Contract Quality Check Lead plays a critical role in ensuring that all Third-Party contracts are in compliance with AXP Policies & Procedures and other regulatory requirements. * This includes detailed review of key contract clauses, financial implications, IPCR applicability, and other essential requirements and approvals which are required as per policies and guidelines. * Identify and leverage opportunities to add value to the business through proactive engagement with key stakeholders. * Build and maintain sustainable relationships with all stakeholders, establishing a reputation as a source of expertise in procurement and contract activities to facilitate issue resolution. * Provide guidance on process and control activities, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction among internal customers. * Maintain a robust control compliance environment, actively review audit requirements, and drive adherence to professional, legal, and regulatory standards. * Manage quality metrics and participate in standardization, continuous improvement, and reengineering initiatives to enhance contract management processes. * Ensure team does the detailed reviews of procurement and contracting activities based on predefined criteria, ensuring all contracts are aligned with business goals and requirements. * Review the accuracy and completeness of due diligence in the contract review process. * Ensure all contracting activities comply with defined legal, regulatory, and internal requirements, mitigating risks and safeguarding company interests. * Support internal and regulatory audits by providing comprehensive documentation and information as required by the audit team. * Manage the escalation process for critical issues, ensuring timely decision-making and problem resolution by the appropriate management chain. * Manage the team of Contract Quality Review Professionals, conduct 1-2-1’s, year end performance review * Support day to day liaison around operational requirements with different stakeholders and customers like rush requests from SVP offices, etc * Drives results cross functionally, cross business units and across the Blue Box that have a major impact on driving process efficiencies * Meticulous attention to details while preserving the goal and timeframe of end products * Is able and has the gravitas to interact at all levels of management to support resolution of complex business issues * Incumbent having strong understanding of AXP Policies and procedures will be an added advantage * Fostering the spirit of collaboration and continuous learning * Manage critical business relationship & engage stakeholders including Compliance, SSBE, TLM, Global Sanctions etc * Requires effective and thought through decision making to ensure process runs effectively and efficiently * Challenge team to ‘raise the bar’ and drive continuous improvement. Build talent pipeline by identifying team members with high potential for succession planning and coaching * Timely and efficient monitoring of key service delivery metrics and identifying any gaps or process failings around productivity and quality metrics. * Protects the brand by ensuring controls, compliance and information security and data protection. * Provide issue resolution/ business consultancy to customers. **Maintain and promote the Blue Box Values by ensuring that work is completed to the highest professional and regulatory standards.** **Educational /Professional qualification** * Graduate or post - graduate with Min 8-10 Years of experience in Contracting, Audit, Quality Control or legal domain with prior team management experience * Experience executing complex strategic and operational initiatives * Superior communication and customer service abilities to include excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong executive presence * Proven ability to effectively influence without authority across all levels * Ability to translate overall business vision and objectives into tactical strategies and executable plans, providing customers with options where applicable * Flexibility to work with different countries (time-zones), groups, and business environment * Working knowledge of Procurement tools like Conga etc. would be an advantage. * Customer interface with experience and ability to proactively anticipate customer needs and identify their specific requirements. * Frequent contacts with internal/external customers and other company representatives at all levels of management. * Proven People leadership skills and the ability to assess, develop, retain and nurture talent.
