DePaul is looking for a passionate Learning & Development professional to join our team! The Manager of Talent Development and Belonging is responsible for leading and executing comprehensive employee training programs and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to enhance employee skills, promote a culture of belonging, and support organizational goals. This role will design, develop, and deliver impactful learning experiences and cultivate an inclusive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will be dynamic and strategic and have a strong background in instructional design, training delivery, and DEI program development.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and proficient in Microsoft Office and instructional design applications and learning management systems. Strong communication skills, leadership, facilitation, and time-management abilities, and a commitment to delivering a seamless training experience are essential for success in this role. Reliable transportation and a clean driving record are required.

Design, develop, and implement training programs across various formats (in-person, virtual, e-learning).Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions across departments and levels.Create instructional materials using sound adult learning principles, leveraging tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, or similar.Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and department trainers to co-develop content and support knowledge transfer. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding training opportunities and career development. Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and learning opportunities across departments.Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, feedback, and performance metrics to inform continuous improvement.Support learning systems including Learning Management Systems (LMS).Belonging/Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:
Lead the development and implementation of DEI strategies, policies, and practices across the organization.Design and deliver DEI-related training, workshops, and resources (e.g., bias, inclusive leadership, cultural humility).Integrate DEI principles in all training programs to promote an inclusive workplace culture.Lead the Workforce Inclusion Network (internal DEI council) and partner with leadership to promote a culture of belonging.Monitor industry trends and internal data to recommend initiatives that advance equity in hiring, retention, and development.Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on DEI matters to all levels of the organization.
Collaboration & Strategy:
Collaborate with HR, leadership, and communications, to align L&D and DEI initiatives with organizational goals.Track, analyze, and report key L&D and DEI metrics to leadership.Manage external partnerships with vendors, consultants, and training providers as needed.Lead or support organization-wide events, awareness campaigns, and recognition programs related to learning and DEI.Stay updated with the latest learning trends, tools, and technologies to enhance program delivery. QualificationsEducation & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, DEI, organizational development, or a related field; master’s degree preferred5+ years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or a related area3+ years of experience in DEI strategy and program developmentStrong knowledge of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and adult learningProven experience with LMS platforms and e-learning development toolsDemonstrated success leading DEI initiatives in a corporate or nonprofit settingExcellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze data and translate insights into action plansPassionate about developing people and creating inclusive environmentsRequired Skills & Abilities:
Respects and maintains employee and vendor confidentialityAbility to work independently Ability to communicate and facilitate effectively, both orally and in writing Proficient in time management and organizational skillsMust be proficient in use of Microsoft applications including Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with familiarity with instructional design and LMS applications.Proficient in leadership and conflict managementOrganizational skills and attention to detailPossess a driving record that meets the agency’s clean driving record policy. Must have reliable transportation.
