Manager of Strategy

The Manager of Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of R1 RCM, contributing significantly to our continued growth and market leadership in revenue cycle management. Daily, the Manager of Strategy will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of key strategic initiatives, providing rigorous analytical support, and driving critical projects across the organization. In addition, you will provide direct support in R1’s M&A and portfolio management efforts, contributing to the evaluation of capability gaps and how the organization can build, partner, or acquire solutions to continue innovating for the benefit of R1’s clients. To thrive in this role you must be proactive in your approach, think strategically with the ability to synthesize a competitive situation, be an expert in Excel with ability to build complex financial models, able to manage time with overlapping priorities and projects, able to communicate effectively both written and verbal and adjust the messaging to your audience, and ability to work well in a team with internal and external stakeholders. **Here’s what you will experience working as the Manager of Strategy:** **Strategy Development & Execution:** + Support the strategy leader and senior leadership team in the formulation, refinement, and ongoing monitoring of R1’s enterprise strategy + Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and industry trend assessments to identify strategic opportunities and threats + Develop detailed business cases, financial models, and strategic frameworks to evaluate new initiatives and market entries + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and ensure successful execution + Track and report on the performance of strategic initiatives, identifying areas for optimization and adjustment + Prepare professional and clear presentations and communications for internal and external stakeholders on strategic topics **Corporate Development Support:** + Provide analytical and project management support for corporate development activities, including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and divestitures + Assist with sourcing and screening new acquisition opportunities in-line with the company’s acquisition strategy, including regular updating of the pipeline and coordination with executives across the enterprise + Develop integrated financial and M&A models with appropriate underlying assumptions to drive the decision-making process and perform specific financial and valuation analysis in close collaboration with key stakeholders + Prepare due diligence analyses to build cases for acquisitions and to identify issues and concerns + Manage diligence data rooms, trackers, and project plans in support of M&A efforts **Required Qualifications:** + 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, private equity firm, and/or corporate strategy team + Demonstrated experience in strategic analysis with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong quantitative aptitude + Expert-level proficiency in financial modeling (Excel) and presentation tools (PowerPoint) + Strong business acumen and ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and translate them into actionable strategies + Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment + High degree of intellectual curiosity and a proactive, self-starter mentality + Unquestionable integrity and professional ethics + Experience in the healthcare industry is required; + The ideal candidate will be in Chicago, and will be willing to be in the office 2-3 days a week + Travel will be as needed and will be up to 10% For this US-based position, the base pay range is $87,834.24 - $139,823.91 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
