Purpose of the Job
As Manager of Partnership, you will support the Director of Partnership China to maintain and develop professional relationship with key stakeholders in China, especially the policy makers and influencers in science, technology and medical sector as well as academic publishing. You will ensure successful implementation of key cooperative projects to serve the Chinese research community, to demonstrate Elsevier’s thought leadership in academic publishing as a trusted partner. In this role you will have the opportunity to obtain policy insights and develop strategic view through internal and external outreach, and nurture your potential to identify, establish and expand new business partners to support Chinese researchers’ academic growth. You will also play an important role in sharing knowledge and insights with internal stakeholders to empower more informed decision making.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
Daily communication with internal and external stakeholders to enhance mutual understanding.
Implementation of cooperative projects and initiatives in collaboration with working partners.
Identify and establish professional relations with new stakeholders at central and provincial level.
Support global and China’s comms efforts to represent Elsevier’s brand as home to world-class journals, pioneer in AI empowered research and bridge of international STM exchange.
Participate in external events and represent the value of Elsevier STM journal publishing.
Optimize Elsevier journals’ performance among Chinese research evaluation agents.
Support agenda planning and execution of high-level meetings and visits.
Documentation for effective internal communications, including but not limited to briefings, reports, policy analysis, official letters.
Occasional business travels required to meet key stakeholders.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experiences
Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field (communication, law, etc., preferred).
Minimum 5 years’ experiences in communication related roles, working experience with academic publishing a bonus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written English skills.
Strong understanding of the Chinese public sector, particularly policy makers, research institutions, societies and their programs in research evaluation, science, technology and medicine (STM) innovation.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and complex situations with professionalism and discretion.
