THE ROLE

The Manager of Annual Fund is responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of all aspects of the Hurricane Club’s annual giving program. This position plays a critical role in driving philanthropic support for the University of Miami Athletics Department by managing comprehensive annual fund campaigns, growing membership, and enhancing donor engagement. The role serves as a key liaison between Athletics and donors and contributes directly to the overall success of fundraising initiatives, especially as they relate to scholarship support and operational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Strategy & Execution

Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fund strategy to increase revenue, grow donor base, and elevate membership in the Hurricane Club. Lead direct mail, email, digital, and engagement campaigns throughout the year. Oversee donor segmentation, gift tracking, stewardship, and benefit fulfillment.

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

Lead efforts in coordinating donor events including pre-game receptions, away game gatherings, and recognition opportunities.

Marketing & Communications

Collaborate with marketing, creative services, and ticketing teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging for the Hurricane Club. Develop content for fundraising appeals, donor updates, newsletters, and web content.

Game Day & Events

Represent the Hurricane Club on football, basketball, and baseball game days, engaging with donors and assisting with hospitality areas. Serve as a lead in organizing and executing annual fund-related events, including Giving Day, gifting, and exclusive donor experiences.

Data & Reporting

Work closely with the Athletics Business Office and University Advancement to maintain accurate donor records, process gifts, and generate reports. Analyze data trends to measure effectiveness of campaigns and inform future strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in annual giving, athletic fundraising, or alumni relations. Strong understanding of NCAA athletics and donor relations in a university setting. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to meet fundraising goals and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Paciolan, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required. COMPENSATION
