The mission of the Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) group within Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) is to be essential to merchants and partners globally by delivering an easy, frictionless, value-added experience that enables them to meet their goals and serve their customers. GS&C consists of a diverse set of teams that support the GMNS business.
The Global Merchant Operations Team is dedicated to delivering an easy, frictionless, value-added experience that enables merchants and partners to meet their goals and serve their customers. The key strategic priorities for this team are to design, implement and improve processes to make it easy, fast, safe and reliable for all merchants to do business with us while enabling new business solutions and capabilities. The Merchant Onboarding and Maintenance team sits within GS&C and delivers onboarding and account maintenance programs with the right controls and oversight while streamlining the merchant experienceGNS (Global Network Services) operates in all regions globally to drive scale and relevance for the American Express Brand through our Acquiring and Issuing partners.
The Senior Manager, Marketing – India, will play an integral role in the GNS Global Product and Marketing team to create strong value for our Issuing Partners. The successful candidate would be an experienced marketer who will work closely with Business Development teams and Centres of Excellence (COEs) within American Express and our external partners to deliver strong business results.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Day-to-day relationship lead to bank partners’ marketing departments, both issuing and acquiring, as it relates to key activities (e.g. new product development, product refreshes, local benefit activation, Acquisition and perception of coverage, etc.)
• Manage diverse set of markets and partners, driving prioritization of key growth levers working closely with the Business Development teams
• Work with Global Marketing Center Of Excellence (COEs) to ensure global approach is replicated across marketing with India issuers
• Ensure marketing campaigns align with company’s strategic objectives, and are informed by research, analytics and metrics
• Develop deep understanding of competitive landscapes and partners under purview
• Ensure all marketing activities meet the required Risk and Control measures and are 100% compliant with PMGB SOP and all other Amex policy requirements.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in Acquisition, Product development, Portfolio and campaign management and general marketing
• Strong innovative marketer, who can leverage analytics to derive insight and then translate marketing ideas into clear marketing tactics / actions. Needs to have strong analytical skills and financial acumen to drive the business forward.
• Superior project management skills/organizational skills and ability to multitask in delivering complex initiatives
• Strong communication skills and ability to create and deliver persuasive high impact presentations
• Effective at influencing and managing cross functional stakeholders and external partners
• Understanding of cultural differences and how those should be considered in driving decisions and actions.
• Passionate customer focus with a growth mindset and determination to succeed. Energetic and optimistic team player
• High energy, strong will to win, self-starter. Able to thrive in a fast paced, fluid environment.
