Primary Purpose Plan and manage resources, finances, scope and services within a functional area of Information Technology to deliver business results. Provide IT products, services and solutions on time, within budget and with the required functionality. Establish, maintain and enhance relationships with clients. Participate in developing and implementing strategy/policy. Manage large-scale projects of high complexity, size and change management risk. The IT Manager for the IT Emergency Preparedness Team oversees strategic and operational IT support for Exelon's storm and emergency response. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of critical IT systems, communication networks, and data infrastructure remain reliable, secure, and perform well during emergencies. The IT Manager also manages patch management and risk management functions to protect operations. They will lead a specialized team, coordinate with various departments, and implement technology solutions for patch management, risk management, rapid response, outage management, and restoration. Will be expected to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays during storm events. Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Must reside & sit within Exelon's service territories (IL, DC, MD, PA & NJ). No relocation is available. Primary Duties Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals dedicated to storm response operations. Develop staffing plans, training programs, and schedules to ensure 24/7 readiness for emergency response. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the team. Coordinate IT support for storm response activities, including real-time system monitoring, troubleshooting during outages, and seasonal readiness activities. Collaborate with operations, field crews, and emergency management teams to provide reliable technology solutions. Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and contingency plans specific to storm response, patch management, and risk management. Provide regular updates to senior and executive leadership on IT system status, patch compliance, risk management activities, emergency/storm response, and recovery efforts. Develop and execute a comprehensive patch management strategy to ensure all IT systems, applications, and devices are up to date with the latest security patches and software updates. Monitor and prioritize patch deployments, balancing urgency with system stability, especially during pre-storm preparations and post-storm recovery. Maintain detailed records of patch compliance and audit trails to meet regulatory requirements. Identify, assess, and mitigate IT-related risk. Develop and maintain risk management plans, including risk registers and mitigations strategies, to ensure operational continuity. Conduct regular risk assessments and simulations to evaluate the resilience of IT systems and infrastructure. Document and analyze IT performance during storm events to drive continuous improvement. Develop and oversee the IT budget for emergency response, patch, and risk management operations, ensuring financial health remains within a +/-8% variance on a month-by-month basis. Oversee procurement of services to support emergency response capabilities. Represent business client's perspective with IT team Dimensions: Span of control (generally 10), level of budget control, technical/business complexity, risk, criticality of assignment to business Budget Management specific to area of accountability. Operate independently with little or no supervision. Maintains expert knowledge of multiple technologies and their cross impact to applications across our business areas and for our customers. Acts as a role model for technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve highly complex business problems, inclusive of partner, vendor, and other IT professionals. Conducts the most complex work assignments with little to no supervision and a high degree of independent judgement. Creates and contributes to a development-centric work environment where employees are challenged, coached, and engaged. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 7-10 years' experience in IT management experience, with a focus on critical response, or critical infrastructure environment. PMP certification preferred for specific roles as per guidelines established by the IT Project Management Office. Experience leading and managing IT projects or subteams and knowledge of IT project management. Experience leading and managing technical personnel. Strong judgment and excellent analytical ability. Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of IT and business management and with vendors. Experience managing budgets for functional area of responsibility. In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends. Proven experience managing IT operations during high pressure situations, such as natural disasters or major outages. Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays during storm events. Expert in articulating sensitive and mission-critical information to a wide variety of target audiences (written and verbal, inclusive of executive leaders). ServiceNow experience Demonstrated experience in patch management, risk management, and IT operations within high availability environments. Strong knowledge of utility specific storm restoration IT Systems (e.g., OMS, SCADA, GIS, AMI) Expertise in network management, patch management, and risk management Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate under pressure. Strong communication skills to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. ITIL Certification Benefits Benefits Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $122,400.00/Yr. – $168,300.00/Yr.
