Position Summary:

The Manager of IT Imaging Systems is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the hospital’s clinical application ecosystem, with a focus on optimizing Epic systems, including Epic Radiant, and supporting imaging-related systems to enhance clinical operations, patient care, and business efficiency. This role leads a team of application analysts and support staff, ensuring the seamless operation, integration, and performance of clinical applications across departments such as radiology, oncology, cardiology, and more. The Manager will drive service excellence by fostering strong relationships with clinical stakeholders, managing vendor partnerships, and aligning technology solutions with hospital business goals.

The Manager of IT Imaging Systems will focus on operational efficiency, user satisfaction, and strategic improvements, leveraging familiarity with imaging systems (e.g., PACS, Fuji Synapse) and Epic workflows to support clinical and business objectives. This role includes managing service delivery, ensuring system reliability, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance workflows and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of clinical applications, with a focus on Epic systems (e.g., Epic Radiant, Epic Mammography) and familiarity with imaging systems like PACS.Lead a team of application analysts to ensure reliable, user-friendly, and efficient clinical application performance across hospital departments.Collaborate with clinical leaders, physicians, and staff to understand workflow needs, translate them into system enhancements, and drive service improvements.Build and maintain strong customer relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure applications meet user needs and enhance patient care.Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations to ensure seamless operation of clinical applications and imaging-related tools.Drive business-oriented outcomes by aligning clinical applications with hospital goals, including operational efficiency, cost management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA).Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging Epic and imaging system capabilities to streamline workflows and improve user satisfaction.Ensure system stability, security, and performance, coordinating with IT infrastructure teams to support scalability and high availability.Develop and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) for clinical application performance, monitoring key metrics and reporting to senior leadership.Oversee training programs and support services to ensure clinical staff are proficient in using applications effectively.Stay informed about emerging clinical technologies, including AI tools and imaging advancements, to recommend solutions that enhance hospital services.Partner with finance and leadership teams to manage budgets, forecast application needs, and justify investments in clinical systems.Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for clinical applications to minimize disruptions during system failures.Provide regular updates to senior leadership on application performance, user feedback, service improvements, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Information Technology, Clinical Informatics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

5+ years of experience in healthcare IT, with a focus on managing clinical applications and supporting hospital operations.Proven expertise in Epic systems, including Epic Radiant, and familiarity with imaging systems (e.g., PACS, RIS, Fuji Synapse).Demonstrated success in leading clinical application support teams and driving service-oriented outcomes in a healthcare setting.Experience building and maintaining customer relationships with clinical stakeholders and managing vendor partnerships.Familiarity with healthcare workflows, including radiology, oncology, cardiology, and other clinical specialties.Experience managing budgets, SLAs, and business-aligned IT initiatives in a hospital environment.

Skills & Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of Epic systems, clinical workflows, and integration with imaging technologies.Expertise in managing clinical application services, with a focus on user satisfaction and operational efficiency.Familiarity with imaging systems (e.g., PACS, modality integrations) and their role in clinical workflows.Strong customer relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and support clinical stakeholders.Knowledge of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and data security best practices.Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, vendor relationships, and third-party integrations.Strategic mindset with a focus on aligning technology solutions with business and clinical goals.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills to drive service excellence.

Preferred:

Epic certification (e.g., Epic Radiant, Clinical Informatics, or similar).Experience with AI tools or advanced clinical technologies in a healthcare setting.Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare system managing clinical application services.
