As our Manager based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) you’ll play a key part in our financial modelling and commercial engagements on a full time flexible basis.
EY’s Infrastructure Advisory team is New Zealand’s leading advisor to Government and industry on projects and programmes that significantly impact our people and communities. You will have the opportunity to advise clients across all infrastructure sectors, including transport, energy, water, defence, health and human services, education and justice, representing EY in planning and delivering major investments in our country’s future. This exciting opportunity offers exposure and experience of New Zealand’s biggest and most important infrastructure projects across transport, health, justice and defence and energy.
Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities
For this role we are seeking a commercially minded individual to:
Provide trusted financial, commercial and strategic advice to clients in consultation with senior staff and partners Plan and build financial models that are transparent, robust, flexible and easy to operate Use and review models to improve model integrity and provide analytical insights Work in a high-performing team to help Government and industry clients navigate all stages of the infrastructure lifecycle, from strategy and business case development through to transactions advice Develop clear, well written and easy to understand reports and presentations Manage and be accountable for internal budgets and administration and ensure quality and risk management protocols are followed Assist in identifying opportunities to grow our business, including building relationships in the market and lead and/or support proposals and pitches Manage, mentor and provide counselling to our junior team members
Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success
Strong MS Excel and analytical skills, attention to detail and a track record of undertaking insightful quantitative analysis Professional client facing experience within a relevant role or sector, for example within advisory firms, banking, infrastructure firms, private sector or Government Willingness to apply your skills across multiple sectors and multiple disciplines Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to think strategically when problem solving Ability to lead and manage multiple projects/people concurrently, and effectively prioritise competing demands Willingness to train and grow more junior team members Commitment to a strong positive team culture and enthusiasm for working in a flexible and diverse team environment Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 4-7 years post-graduate experience in a relevant role or sector
Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
A passion for working on some of New Zealand’s largest and most transformative infrastructure projects Core values of integrity and professionalism Willingness to travel domestically Experience in Power BI, Power Query and Alteryx would be advantageous but not essential Achievement of, or progress towards, CA, CFA or an equivalent postgraduate qualification would be advantageous but not essential
