Manager II, Scheduling & Distribution Requirements Planning
POSITION PROFILE
Oversees the release of inventory from the Distribution Center (EDC) to manufacturing for the direct and indirect businesses as well as daily operations associated with scheduling activities for direct orders. Optimizes inventory and workload in manufacturing. Manage teams to work collaboratively with manufacturing, dispatch, order management, customer administration, project management, and central planning to continuously improve while maintaining service and capacity utilization levels that meet company and business plan objectives.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for release of material to support the daily production schedule in manufacturing to align with priorities and capacities thus maintaining manufacturing center on hand inventory and increasing efficiencies Responsible for planning and managing the scheduling functions and ensures work is completed to satisfy customers and meet department goals Work with procurement team to determine excess and shortages of equipment and supplies at manufacturing centers. Review and recommend improvements to current manufacturing center inventory parameters Maximize manufacturing center capacity considering both resource and material constraints Execute daily inventory transfers from west coast and east coast hub locations Collaborate with Order Management or Customer Administration teams on short term inventory challenges or backorders Analyzes inventory supply and demand for assigned products to maintain balance and accuracy to Target Stock Levels Ensures all necessary team data requirements are available and validated Achievement of team performance metrics (KPIs) aligned with SCM and business goals Effectively recruits, interviews and selects staff. Ensures scheduling and distribution planning personnel are properly trained in all tasks and duties Steps in to handle escalated issue resolution and to provide superior customer service Manage team schedule and assignment
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)
Four-year college degree - preferably in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering Business, Logistics, or Accounting/Finance - or comparable experience is required Knowledge of scheduling processes with experience in Oracle and/or Descartes 8 + years of direct experience managing planning functions with a background in Distribution Requirements Planning, Material Requirements Planning, Purchasing, Scheduling, Operations, or Customer Service APICS CFP, and Six Sigma certifications a plus

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level Requires internal contact within department and with other corporate personnel, and external contact with customers, agencies, vendors, etc. and General Public Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems Modest physical effort is required. Work does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 20 lbs.
