ROLE SUMMARY
The role of the Financial Controller is to implement appropriate financial controls in order to ensure compliance with accepted accounting processes and legal requirements. This role is also responsible for financial data analysis, record-keeping, and financial reporting to senior financial management. The Financial Controller is involved in all aspects of financial management, inclusive of corporate accounting, , internal regulation, and financial reporting.


ROLE PROFILE

Designs and implement distributed and efficient controllership model and framework for LEC to ensure systems and control measures are in place in order to strengthen Head Office oversight over the Business Units.Develops policies, systems, and processes to ensure proper application of accounting standards and controls across LEC business.Analyzes the financial impact of major business operational issues and decisions affecting the business and delivering timely reports as requested.Generates consolidated financial reporting that is timely, accurate, and usable by the business in assessing its financial position.Liaises with and contributes to providing expert accounting, finance and tax advice to all business units on issues relating to financial management and ensure the proper understanding by all relevant parties of the implications of the transactions, staResponsible for Fixed Asset capitalization, which is non project related, to be accurate, backed up and reportable.Prepares necessary schedules, discusses, and resolves issues with Audit Managers and coordinates the implementation of audit recommendations.Reviews and signs off on all financial statements (all locations) against business strategy, future growth plans and ensure compliance with IFRS.

 


REQUIREMENTS

University Degree: Bachelor’s degree from a faculty of commerce or equivalent.Demonstrates minimum of 8 –12 years of experience in corporate finance, with expertise in financial strategy, planning, and analysis.Holds over 5 years of experience in a control or leadership position, with a solid record of managing financial operations and strengthening internal controls.CPA or CMA certification is also desirable for the position.Highly familiar with dynamic accounting software’s and have a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.Highly skilled in technology and possess exceptionally good computer skills
