ResponsibilitiesJob Summary:
Ascension is seeking a Manager of External Communications – Media Relations and Executive Visibility to support the strategic media engagement and thought leadership activities across the organisation. This role will assist in the ongoing efforts to proactively highlight Ascension’s programs and initiatives, as well as support the development, organization and execution of various thought leadership activities that enhance executive visibility.
The Manager will work closely with the Director of Media Relations and Executive Visibility as well as the entire external communications team to ensure the execution of developed strategies designed to meet specific key performance indicators.
The role will also involve working closely with additional Ascension leadership and staff to facilitate the design and development of external communications content and assist in the execution of corresponding strategies.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and execution of various media engagement and thought leadership strategies for Ascension leaders, programs and initiatives.Assist in the development of various external communications content including press releases, statements, media talking points, op-eds, award submissions, social media posts and more.Assist in the review and organization process for any incoming media inquiries, speaking engagements and award opportunities. Assist in the coordination of timelines, reporting, and tracking for various projects.Develop various media coverage reports and evaluate progress towards identified KPIs. Proactively research and evaluate additional media and thought leadership opportunities for consideration.Maintain alignment with Ascension’s voice, message, Mission and values in all external communications activities.Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in external communications, public relations, media relations or a related field.Proven experience leading communications campaigns across various external channels ( media, digital, social).Familiarity with the media landscape and standard protocols and practices.
Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone and content for different audiences.
Experience working with senior leaders, external partners and cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree required

Education:
