Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Manager of Energetics Manufacturing to support the Energetics Manufacturing Engineering group at our Rocket Center, WV location.

This position will we be located on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote opportunities are available for this position.

As Manager in the Energetics Manufacturing Engineering group, candidate will be responsible for providing supervisory/management responsibilities for a small group of engineers working on production and development rocket motor and/or warhead programs, while also providing technical leadership and guidance. This manager will also work on proposal requests and provide manufacturing plans and estimates to support business growth.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Lead a team that develops and sustains manufacturing processes for defense-related productsEnsure the right people, processes, and tools are in place to meet the business needsOversee the supervision of day-to-day engineering activity and work products, expense management, workload management and performance management processIdentify, manage and grow the critical skills for the manufacturing teamIdentify and/or lead continuous improvement activities within the department/plantFunction as a key contributor on development programs, guiding manufacturing trajectoryPrepare, review, and approve cost estimates and written technical proposals

Basic Qualifications

BS degree in Engineering is required, preferably Mechanical or AerospaceMinimum of 5 years of directly related engineering experience, or 3 years with an MS degreeStrong mechanical skills and exposure to a manufacturing environmentAbility and experience with interpreting drawing/specification requirementsFamiliarity with Root Cause Analysis, Fault Trees and Design of ExperimentsStrong leadership, influence, and project management skillsAbility to network and negotiate at all levels within an organization to accomplish objectivesStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to travel occasionally (<10%) to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with vendorsAbility to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite

Preferred Qualifications

Prior project, program, or people leadership experienceStrong mechanical skills and exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Knowledge of propellant/explosive manufacturingPrior experience working with DoD and/or DoE customers

Salary Range: $101,900.00 - $152,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
