United’s Digital Fleet Management (DFM) team is a group of experts dedicated to using aircraft, engine and ground equipment asset and telemetry data to improve United’s operations by implementing predictive maintenance and aircraft connectivity technology. The Manager of Digital Fleet Management Products will serve as the primary business product owner for all software applications used within the DFM team. This includes United’s in-house and third-party predictive maintenance platforms, interfaces with Tech Ops Digital Technology systems, automation systems to trigger servicing and maintenance tasks and workflows for health monitoring analysts and engineers to analyze asset sensor data. This collaborative leader will develop and own product roadmaps, write user stories and manage the user acceptance testing and deployment of all applications supporting the DFM team.
Serve as the primary product owner for United’s in-house predictive maintenance and health monitoring platform; create product roadmaps, own the backlog of business requirements and user stories, work with technology and analytics teams to develop new applications and workflowsLead software and application portfolio management for predictive maintenance, health monitoring and associated automation technologies to support scaling across all aircraft, engine and ground equipment assets, including management of third-party software vendor relationships and contractsPartner with Digital Technology and Analytics teams to integrate the output of DFM applications into operational processes and workflows
Support Process Standardization and Change Management teams during all phases of projects, ensuring all training, change management and communications considerations have been incorporated and plannedLead a team of Product Management analysts responsible for portions of the DFM software and application portfolio; provide strategic guidance and manage day-to-day performance and goals of the team
NOTE: This position is located at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL and considered as a hybrid role working 3 days in-office, however that may evolve with the needs of the company.
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelor's degreeEngineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related fieldMinimum 3 years experience in a business, technology, engineering or data driven roleMinimum 2 years experience in software product management (business side product ownership is acceptable)Knowledge of Agile development concepts (Scrum, Kanban, etc)Excellent requirements management skills – creating business requirements documents or managing user stories and backlogsAbility to develop and communicate strategic product roadmaps and project plansAbility to define scope, epics and “definition of done” by collaborating closely with technology and business stakeholdersAbility to facilitate design and discovery workshops with end users and digital technology/analytics teams to develop new applications and workflowsProven project management, organization, and thought leadership skills with ability to build and lead cross-functional project teamsStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with all internal and external business partnersMust be willing and able to travel 10% domesticMust be willing and able to work a hybrid schedule, 3 days in-office at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, ILMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degreeEngineering, Computer Science, MBA or a related fieldAirline experience or operations experience in a similar industryExperience working with advanced analytics applications and operational technologyFamiliarization with airline operations (Maintenance, Network Operations/Dispatch, Flight Operations or Inflight)
The base pay range for this role is $109,820.00 to $142,936.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
