Purpose of Role: Leading the tactical direction and the execution of development & design projects of Electrical, Controls (machine control) and Auxiliary systems of the Comminution & GEHO Product Portfolio, whilst coordinating with stakeholders across the wider WEIR organisation to ensure the seamless implementation, support, or enhancement of these systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire a high-performing global engineering team, driving innovation through world-class practices, strategic goal-setting, and continuous development. From mentoring talent to managing resources and budgets, you’ll shape a culture of excellence and deliver impactful resultsDesign and execute high-performance electrical, controls, and hydraulic systems, covering everything from PLC/HMI programming and instrumentation to system integration and compliance with global standards. Collaborate with lead engineers to deliver robust, production-ready solutions that meet stakeholder requirements and drive engineering excellence.Collaborate across digital, mechanical, process, and service teams to ensure seamless system integration and support new product development from concept to commissioning. Drive innovation through engineering, design automation, and continuous improvement, while embedding industry best practices and standardisation into every stage of the design process.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Educational Background: Holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Industrial Automation Engineering, or an equivalent professional qualification. A Master's degree in the same field is preferred.Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams, either through formal line management or by independently managing technical projects. Proven ability to supervise small engineering teams.Technical Expertise: Over five years of hands-on experience in the development of electrical, automation, and control systems, including auxiliary systems such as electrical hardware, instrumentation, PLC programming, and hydraulic systems, particularly in machinery design and integration.Technical Literacy: Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, hydraulic designs, and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).PLC Knowledge: Solid understanding of PLC programming principles, with a preference for experience using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
