Manager – ICS Business Conduct Program 3rd Parties Oversight Manager International Risk and Control sits within International Card Services (ICS) which comprises of all the issuing functions across all 28 international markets excluding the US - colleagues operate across a variety of geographies and disciplines. The objective of the ICS Risk & Control (IR&C) teams is to enable safe, sound and sustainable business growth, and to support our International Legal Entities to deliver on their control and compliance obligations.

We are seeking a UK based Risk Manager to join our IR&C Business Conduct team to support the roll out and ongoing governance of our Business Conduct Program.

The IR&C Business Conduct Program provides clear standards and governance for all ICS customer facing interactions to ensure that ICS operates with the highest conduct standards, as individuals and as a team.

The ICS Risk & Control Business Conduct 3rd Parties Oversight Manager will report to the Director Business Conduct Strategy. They will play a key part in developing an ICS Business Conduct strategy to identify and manage ongoing Third-Party risks ensuring documented policies, operating procedures & training are in place to manage the risks and comply with Enterprise obligations. Translate Enterprise standards (AEMP88, Customer Facing Interaction (CFI) Standards) as they relate to Third Parties used by ICS business to perform CFIs.  Manage Business conduct risk awareness activities ensuring understanding and accountability is in place with strategic stakeholders regarding management of CFI third parties and in compliance with AXP Management Policies and Standards Support other ICS Business Conduct R&C leads to ensure third party obligations for their workstreams are understood and learnings from review findings are retrofitted across applicable markets. Evaluate findings and learnings from other BUs to Identify trends, best practices and opportunities to uplift, streamline and enhance ongoing governance controls in relation to 3rd parties Support cross-region ICS Business conduct 3rd party related reviews (CRM and IAG) and provide business / stakeholder consultation in relation to responding to audit requests. Alignment with IR&C Business Conduct Audit Manager in finding ownership and tracking completion of plan closure activities. Partner with Counterparts in other Business Units, Compliance, and other risk experts to leverage best practices and, where possible, drive consistency at the market / Legal Entity level.  Function as point of contact for the ICS Business Conduct 3rd Party framework, providing process & control input to second line, third line and external reviews (compliance, internal Audit, regulators) as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

An experienced risk manager, Aptitude to operate within a policy and process driven environment. Comfortable navigating a complex, fast paced environment, often with strict deadlines, high degrees of ambiguity and Compliance / regulatory commitments.

Strategic thinker – Able to translate complex concepts into operational strategies and gain buy in from key stakeholders. Collaboration - Strong collaboration skills and ability to positively work through conflict. Strong analytical & Process Improvement skills Ability to work with large volume of data in an organized and systematic approach using outputs to drive process improvement. Excellent Relationship management skills - Rapidly build trust & credibility with strategic stakeholders including but not limited to; Regional IR&CO Business Conduct workstream and execution leads, Market Control Management experts, Sales and Account Development teams, Colleague Labour Relations (CLR), General Counsel employment teams, International Field Enablement (IFE), Regional and Local Compliance officers, Privacy and strategic counterparts in other business units. Problem solving - Ability to navigate across functional areas / geographies and work through roadblocks using established networks, negotiation skills and through the development of compliant solutions. Communication – Delivery of impactful communications (clear, concise & meaningful - both written and oral) for multiple audiences / levels of seniority. Decisive Self-starter with high degree of autonomy and accountability, demonstrating an intense will-to-win. Confidence in decision-making in complex and ambiguous situations; comfortable troubleshooting and aligning conflicting interests in a professional outcome-focused manner Driving results across cross-functional teams without direct authority to ensure that strategic uplift plans are implemented, and local oversight infrastructure is established and maintained. Degree of flexibility with time given the international remit of the role.
