Job Description
The Manager, Public Affairs is responsible for identifying opportunities, developing strategy and managing the execution of internal and external public affairs and advocacy programs to protect and enhance AbbVie's and product brand reputation and valuation, building and maintaining relationships with internal and external influences and stakeholders across Spain.
The Manager is also responsible for working together with patient associations, bringing insights into the organization, developing strategic brand thinking for the capability across the country and ensuring a patient-centric mindset.
Position must be able to think strategically and provide thoughtful counsel to a broad range of internal and external contacts across all levels of management.
Major Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Brand Team on Parkinson and Migraine brand communication and patient engagement strategies and programs working collaboratively with colleagues to maximize business outcomes at country level and playing an active role within the Brand Team.Build and protect AbbVie reputation, help identify high impact internal and external communications opportunities, engage key stakeholders, and provide effective counsel to business leaders, based on a good understanding of businesses and therapeutic areas, industry, stakeholder dynamic and competitive landscapeDevelop and lead strategic patient advocacy programs and engagement with Spanish Parkinson and Migraine patient groups to shape external issues, supporting access to best treatment standards and quality of care through disease awareness and patient educationIdentify and execute opportunities to integrate external affairs strategies, maximizing our output across multiple channels and realizing synergies through the teamsInnovate and advocate for the highest standards of measurement of impact, using robust KPI management and adopting advanced analytics approachesManage resources including agencies and budgets on programs ensuring the performance and quality of workCoach and develop Affiliate Public Affairs/Patient relation leadsQualifications
University or Higher degree required (communications, PR, public affairs or marketing or public health majors preferred, but not limited)At least 10 years of experience in communication and public affairs or patient advocacy or stakeholder relationships or marketing or corporate affairs or external affairs or the equivalent roles within the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry or consultancyFluency in English required (verbal and written)
