*Summary*
Partners with the Director of Compensation in the design, planning, and implementation of compensation programs, policies and procedures for the Nuvance Health system. Supports Nuvance Health’s efforts to ensure programs are competitive in the marketplace, innovative and reflective of best practices, provide value to employees, are aligned with strategic imperatives of the organization, and are compliant and cost effective. Makes appropriate recommendations to Director of Compensation, VP of Total Rewards, or client Managers. Recommends and implements new and or revised compensation programs that are both cost-effective and that provide strong, competitive positioning. Ensures that all programs are properly documented and that actual practices are fully compliant with plan provisions.
*Responsibilities*
1.Assists in development and implementation of compensation policies and programs such as survey participation and annual benchmarking analysis, annual merit, and union step increases
2. Serves as compensation subject matter expert for the team; consults with HR and talent acquisition business partners on compensation-related matters.
3. Advises leaders on compensation program eligibility, practices, and policy interpretations. Supports decision-making process regarding plan offerings and plan design, by providing detailed analysis and innovative recommendations.
4. Coordinates annual merit review process and annual benchmarking process, partnering with Talent and Development, and HRBP's to ensure effective communication and execution strategy for associates as well as implementation partners.
5. Provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of programs
6. Provides supervision and oversight to compensation consultants including conducting performance evaluations, mentoring, coaching, providing feedback and fostering a positive work environment.
7. Evaluates compensation protocol and processes for efficiencies, streamlining and continuous improvement opportunities.
8.Keeps abreast of legislative changes and anticipate impact on hospital systems. Proactively communicates and advises leadership of potential implications and recommends mitigation strategies.
9.Works with Director of Compensation, HRBP’s or client groups on a variety of projects including program design, analysis, budgeting, implementation of new programs, etc.
10.Works with Labor Relations and HRBP’s on compensation issues related to Union collective bargaining agreements and negotiations.
11.Participates in development and administration of the performance review system to ensure compliance with salary administration guidelines.
12.Works closely with HRIS and Payroll on salary increases and pay programs.
13.Provides timely and accurate relevant information and reports to auditors or others as needed.
14.Makes recommendations on streamlining processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
15.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position

17.Performs other duties as required.
*Education Skills Experience*
* Bachelor’s degree in a related area from an accredited college/university.
* Seven or more years of experience in the analysis, administration and/or design of compensation programs.
* Strong analytical, math and problem-solving skills.
* Also required, attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills, organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
* Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential way.
* Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to compensation plans is also required.
* Is able to provide department heads with appropriate guidance and direction on suitability and use of existing compensation programs.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
* Experience with HRIS systems.
* Occasional travel to Nuvance Health Corporate location – The Summit in Danbury, CT.
